The Alchemist By Paulo Coelho
My Take from The Book - The Alchemist:
The Alchemist is probably one of the best books I read so far will discuss all the points as a reader point of view what I inferred from that what are my takeaways from that book. If you are a good reader or like to read novels you must have been encountered once with this book for sure whether you are preparing for CAT, XAT, GMAT, etc or any exams that require reading they all recommend this book. What I will suggest you guys is not just read go through this probably the best take away you can take from this book is 'Follow Your Dream'. Ya, we all must have been experienced in life that it's quite a difficult task for all of us. When we are living in a country like India there are things we can't control but at least we can try;).
Summary:
The Book started with a boy(Santiago) who chooses to be a Shephard then a priest or something his father saved all his money and some coins for his study now he gave it to him to follow his dream he wanted to be a wanderer and the only way to be a wanderer is Shephard so he started his career as Shephard(probably will say a life of Shephard but you guys can relate it to it). And his journey started in a small town called 'Andalusian'.
And there are a lot of irrelevant things happens in between one of the things probably I should mention is his encounter with a lady or we call her as Romani Fortune Teller she told him or made him believe that recurring dream is prophetic and told him that his dream is a prophecy that one day he will discover a treasure at the Egyptian Pyramids. At the beginning of his journey, he met an old king named Melchizedek, or the king of Salem, who told him to sell his sheep to travel to Egypt and introduced the idea of a 'Personal Legend'.
Your Personal Legend "is what you have always wanted to accomplish. Everyone, when they are young, knows what their Personal Legend is".
During his journey or in between the journey a lot of things happened from getting robbed by a person who promised him to take Santiago to pyramid to meet and fall in love with an Arabian girl(Fatima), he understands the meaning of true love that "true love will not stop nor must one sacrifice to it one's personal destiny", he promised to marry her after completing his journey.
He encounters a wise alchemist who teaches him to realize his true self. He got robbed again but in the end, he found the treasure he was seeking.
About The Author:
Coehlo wrote this book in 1987 and he wrote it in 2 weeks. That's all I know about him.
The TakeAway from this Book:
Not Every Journey ends to a destination like Santiago he found the true meaning of love on the way, he faced troubles issues but the best things about him are he never give up no matter what we have to travel the road less traveled, same thing applies to us as well we thought about a lot of things but we always give justification to our selfs by what if(we never take extreme decisions) we lead a life of a sheep because we think about what others will think if we do this if we do that but think about the other way what if nothing went wrong what if the Road less Traveled is the road to your destination what if when Santiago robbed and left his journey there itself he will always be a Shephard tho it was a life of his choice but to get something extraordinary we have to do something extra-ordinary that defines us who we actually are.
And at the end follow your heart we are not meant to do the same thing everyone does we are one of a kind. We all are superior in every sense will all grown up with their own experiences we learned from our past we learned to be us by falling a million times but when we grow old we fear to fall because we think we are mature enough. Falling doesn't matter if you are not learning from your fall/failure strike again and strike as hard as you can but never give up on your dreams because that is the only thing that makes you who you are.
U hv concise the novel_summary in well manner
